Comfort in seating
has always been Rea's core business. The combination of good
comfort for extended periods, and self propulsion has been
the success of the Rea Comfort.
When tilting the seat backwards the whole seat unit slides
forward, thus moving the balance point. This sliding balance
point makes the chair stable and secure even when the seat
is tilted 20° backwards and the backrest is reclined to
its 30° Iimit. Whilst in the upright position the chair
is still easy to propel.
The Rea Comfort seating system consists of an independent
seat tilt and backrest recline. The seat plate is depth adjustable
while the backrest is height adjustable with a low backrest
hinge to mimic the natural movement of a reclining human back.
The Comfort gives the user the possibility to tilt the seat
mechanically without the help of an assistant. By turning
the wheel the whole seat unit tilts. The backrest recline
is also operated by the user through a handle on the side
of the wheelchair.
